Hooligan has a point.....We have a football coach who is big hat and
no cattle, a football team who has in some ways taken after their
coach (See the week before Missouri if you dont believe that......."We
want to beat them after what they've done to us the last two
years......" and we spot them 33 unanswered). Onto Bzdelik. He IS a
good coach. If you read what I wrote, I said I wasn't sure if he's the
right guy for THIS job, not I don't think he's a good coach. The
excuse about its a young team from CU people has got to stop. You can
only have so many close calls against UT ('09), KU at Allen ('09), the
'09 OU team, Gonzaga, Arizona, KState, KU this year etc. before you
get to a point where you have to turn the corner. Good programs do
not lose to teams like Colorado State, or follow near misses against
two of the best teams in the country with a clunker against Missouri,
or get punked 5 days later by a mediocre team they ran out of their gym.
Having said all that, I've always thought four years is the minimum
you have to give a coach who jumps into a situation like the Bzdelik
inherited here. Dont reward him with an extension yet, especially if
you turn down postseason play.
