it may be more like 10 years, or even 15, since a short, golden era
produced Chauncey Billups, Michael Ruffin and Pat Garrity.
Louis Amundson is still in the NBA, I think, but he was one of the
all-time late bloomers.
Buff-Mac points out Reggie Jackson, and he's a decent player, but
not exactly a Chauncey-style difference maker or a threat to play in
the NBA.
For whatever reason, this just isn't a good state for high school
hoops. There's not a gigantic black population, but it's big enough
that you'd think there would be more good players. But no.
