The nba is dad to me. Allowing players to team together to from
a "super team" totally eliminates any parity in the league. It is
now the Lakers, Heat, and all the rest. The rest are now just
cannon fodder. The "stars" now make so much money OUTSIDE of their
nba salaries that they are willing to take a huge cut for
thier "Super Team." Instead of the Heat paying them, Nike, et al
pays them.
Their are two kinds of fans. Guys like me/us who like to have a
team to cheer for or the "hip hoppers" who fawn over players like
LeBron and could care less about "teams." Napolean Stern does not
care about guys like me/us. We are a dying breed. To him, its all
about marketing his super stars and super teams.
Hopefully, this will end up backfiring when the balance of power
swings so far off kilter that many of the "have nots" begin to lose
their shirts due to lack of interest. If Melo takes off to the
Nicks, Nuggets attendance will be lucky to reach 10,000 per game.
The Pepsi Center will be half full except for when the Fakers and
Heat come to town.
